IT CAN TALK?! thought Rachel in shock. Creatures were not supposed to go around talking to people. The world didn't work that way. She opened her mouth to respond, but closed it quickly. Tsunomon, meanwhile, stared at her back, as if wondering what was up with the crazy human.
"What are you?" she finally asked, when she recovered.
"I'm a Tsunomon," it replied, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. She supposed it was to him. "I'm your digimon partner."
"Digimon partner?" she asked, testing out the foreign word. What was that supposed to mean? "Uh..Tsunomon, is it?" The weird orange creature nodded. "I have no idea what that's supposed to mean."
"It means we're partners, and work together to accomplish stuff," he explained. Okay...she thought. That made a bit of sense, but it still didn't explain all that much. Apparently Tsunomon wasn't the best source of information available.
"So, what do we do now that we're partners?" she asked, hoping a more specific question would get a more useful response. Tsunomon got excited, and started bouncing around at that.
"We go explore, and help out the digital world," he said, clearly excited. Digital...well, that went with digimon. I guess we could explore. I'd have no idea how to go about helping a world I know next to nothing about.
"Okay, Tsunomon," replied Rachel. "We'll go exploring over there, and see what we find." And maybe, if Rachel was lucky, she'd find a more useful source of information.
